Oluwatosin Demehin progresses to Champions League group stage with Galatasaray

Nigeria defender Oluwatosin Demehin and her Galatasaray teammates have advanced to the group stage of the 2024/2025 UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL) after a 2-1 victory against Slavia Prague in the second leg of the qualifiers on Wednesday.

The match began with an own goal from Eda Karatas in the 31st minute, giving the Czech Republic hosts an early lead.

However, five minutes into the second half, Arzu Katabulut equalized for Galatasaray, bringing the score to 1-1.

With neither side able to find a winner in regulation time, the match went into extra time.

In the 100th minute, Nazlican Parlak scored the decisive goal for the visitors, securing their place in the group stage of the UWCL.

Demehin played the entire match for Galatasaray, showcasing her skills after recently transferring from a top-flight French club to the Turkish side.
