Serie A: AC Milan manager warns Samuel Chukwueze to buckle up
By Saheed Afolabi
AC Milan coach Paulo Fonseca has called on Samuel Chukwueze to step up his performance for the club.
The talented winger has struggled to secure playing time, featuring for just three minutes in Milan’s 2-0 victory against Inter Milan on Sunday.
This season, the Nigeria international has yet to score or provide an assist in five matches, a stark contrast to his impressive preseason form, which had raised expectations.
Fonseca acknowledged Chukwueze’s potential, stating that he needs to regain his confidence in the fast-paced environment of Serie A, where quick decision-making is crucial.
“Chukwueze had a very good preseason; he just needs to build confidence within the context of Serie A, where you have neither time nor space to think,” Fonseca said.
“He must make the right decisions quickly.”
Currently, AC Milan sits seventh in the Serie A table with eight points from five matches, and Fonseca is hopeful that Chukwueze will find his form and reignite his passion for the club.
