Serie A: Tyrone Ebuehi delighted to return after long injury layoff

By Wale Mustapha
Nigerian defender Tyrone Ebuehi has expressed joy at returning to action after spending over a year on the sidelines due to a serious calf injury.
The Super Eagles full-back underwent surgery in 2024, marking the second major injury setback of his career.
He made his long-awaited return last weekend, featuring for Empoli in a goalless Serie A draw against Cagliari.
“It was the second serious injury of my career. I was out for a year, and it was very difficult,” Ebuehi told the club’s official website.
“There were hard moments, but now I’m just happy to be back.”
The 28-year-old’s return is a boost for Empoli, who currently sit 18th on the Serie A table and are fighting to avoid relegation.
