Sevilla manager backs Kelechi Iheanacho to rediscover best form
By Saheed Afolabi
Sevilla coach Garcia Pimienta has expressed his support for Nigeria forward Kelechi Iheanacho, urging him to find his rhythm at the Spanish club.
Despite starting in the 2-1 loss to Alaves on Friday, Iheanacho has yet to score in three matches.
Pimienta acknowledged the challenges Iheanacho faces after joining the team but remains confident in the former Leicester City striker’s abilities.
“Everyone, whoever plays up front tomorrow has to do well. Kelechi is a proven player,” he stated on the club’s official website.
He noted that Iheanacho had a tough outing in his last match, explaining, “The other day he had a difficult game because he came on without warming up. Just like the rest, he has to take a step forward because he has the quality to do it at Sevilla.”
Currently, Sevilla has five points from six matches and will be looking to improve their standings as they prepare to face Real Valladolid on Tuesday, September 24.
