Taiwo Awoniyi: Nottingham Forest drops Nigerian striker from preseason tours

Nigerian striker, Taiwo Awoniyi has been excused from Nottimgham Forest’s preseason tour due to personal reasons. 

The Super Eagles’ forward asked the club to give him more time before joining the team on tour to sort out some disturbing family matters. 

Nottingham Forest will engage in three friendly games during the tour. Awoniyi endured an injury-ravaged campaign last season limiting his game time and return of goals contribution.

The Nigeria international scored six goals with the Tricky Trees managing to escape relegation.

The Nuno Esprito Santos’ side will kick off the new season with a home fixture against Fulham on August 17.
