Valencia held by Racing Santander as injured Umar Sadiq misses four-goal La Liga draw

Umar Sadiq was absent through injury as Valencia were held to an entertaining 2-2 draw by Racing Santander in their La Liga meeting on Sunday evening.

The Super Eagles striker has made three league appearances for Valencia this season and scored one goal, but was unavailable for the trip to El Sardinero.

His absence did little to reduce the attacking ambition of either side, with Valencia and Racing Santander exchanging goals in an open contest from the early stages.

Racing used their home advantage to threaten Valencia with quick transitions, while the visitors drew on their experience to create opportunities and remain within reach throughout the match.

The game continued at a high tempo as both teams looked for a decisive third goal. Valencia and Racing Santander applied pressure during a frantic final period, but neither side could find a breakthrough.

The defences held firm until the final whistle, ensuring the points were shared after a 2-2 stalemate.
