Victor Osimhen unlikely to join Manchester United as Saudi clubs lead transfer race

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen is no longer a top transfer target for Manchester United, with clubs from Saudi Arabia now emerging as frontrunners for his signature ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to England-based journalist Ben Jacobs, speculation linking Osimhen with a move to Old Trafford has been overstated, with most of the recent reports originating from Turkey, where the 26-year-old currently plays on loan for Galatasaray.
Jacobs revealed that Manchester United are instead focusing on signing Ipswich Town forward Liam Delap, while also targeting Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Matheus Cunha as their first-choice striker.
“As reported, Saudi Arabia is leading the race for Victor Osimhen, who wanted to move to Al-Ahli last summer,” Jacobs stated.
“Reports from Turkey about a deal with Manchester United are far from the truth.”
The new developments cast doubt over Osimhen’s long-rumored Premier League switch, with Saudi Pro League sides now seen as the most likely destination for the in-demand Super Eagles star.
Osimhen, who is just one goal shy of matching his personal best in a single season, has attracted interest from across Europe, but Napoli’s €75 million release clause remains a significant barrier for many clubs.
