Nigerian rising star Victoria Igbonoba scored a sensational hat-trick to lead Ordabasy to a 3-1 victory over Okzhetpes in a Kazakhstan QFL Women’s League match on Friday.
Igbonoba opened the scoring in the 29th minute and quickly doubled her team’s lead in the 35th minute. She completed her hat-trick with nine minutes remaining, putting the match out of reach for Okzhetpes.
Although Veronica Abdullayeva pulled one back for the visitors two minutes later, it wasn’t enough to prevent the loss.
Igbonoba’s three goals bring her total to eight in the league this season. Ordabasy now sits third in the standings with 19 points after 16 games, trailing league leaders Shymkent (48 points) and second-placed Aktobe (36 points). The top two teams at the end of the season will qualify for the UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL) Qualifiers.
