In a decisive clash at the football event of the tournament, Senegal emerged triumphant against Nigeria’s U-20 men’s team, clinching a hard-fought 3-2 win in their final group match.

Ladan Boso’s squad made a strong start, breaking the deadlock within the opening two minutes courtesy of a goal from Charles Agada. However, Senegal swiftly responded with two goals from Idrissa Gueye in the 22nd and 28th minutes, respectively, turning the tide in their favor.

Despite Nigeria’s valiant efforts, they managed to equalize early in the second half. However, Senegal reclaimed their lead in the 65th minute, showcasing their resilience and determination.

In the closing stages of the match, Senegal found themselves reduced to ten players, but they held firm to secure the crucial victory and secure a spot in the semi-finals, alongside Uganda.

With three points from three games, including defeats to Uganda and Senegal, the Flying Eagles’ journey in the tournament comes to an end. Nigeria, along with South Sudan, exits the competition at the group stage.

Senegal’s impressive performance underscores their strength and character, while Nigeria’s U-20 team will reflect on their campaign and aim to bounce back stronger in future tournaments.
