2024 President Federation Cup: Abia Warriors, Pillars, Kebbi and El-Kanemi advance

There are two teams from the Nigeria Premier Football League in the semi-final of the 2024 President Federation Cup at the end of the quarter-final games on Wednesday.

Kebbi United edged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission Football Club (EFCC) 4-3 on penalties after regulation time ended in a 0-0 draw.

In the clash of two Nigeria National League (NNL) teams heading to the Super 8, El-Kanemi Warriors pipped Inter Lagos 2-1 to reach the last four.

Sokoto United forced Abia Warriors to a 1-1 draw after Prince Okorie had given the NPFL side the lead in the 31st minute. Abia Warrior won the match 5-4 on penalties.

The last game between two top flight sides, Sunshine Stars and Kano Pillar played out a 1-1 draw with the Northern side securing a 5-4 win on penalties to qualify for the semi final.

For the semi final pairings, Kebbi United and El-Kanemi Warriors will face off in the clash of two Northern teams while two NPFL teams, Abia Warriors and Kano Pillars will trade tackles in the other last four game.

The pairing meant that a team from NPFL and another club in the NNL will face off in the final of the 2024 President Federation Cup in a surprising tournament that has witnessed lots of upsets fit for the FA Cup.
