Doma United beat Katsina United to return top of NPFL table as Insurance pip Rangers

Doma United returned to the top of the table with a 2-0 win over Katsina United as the first set of games in 2024 as far as the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) took place on Saturday.

Two goals in the first eight minutes of the game settled the encounter, with Bidemi Owoku scoring the first goal of the match in the second minute.

Six minutes later, Samuel Enefiok doubled the lead for the hosts and guranteed the comprehensive victory.

Doma moved to the top of the table with 31 points after 17 games, two points ahead of Remo Stars which will play Sunshine Stars on Sunday.

Meanwhile, at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City, Bendel Insurance defeated Enugu Rangers 2-0.

Two goals in either half from Junior Osaghae and Ismail Sarki lifted Monday Odigie’s side to victory.

Insurance moved to the third position with 27 points after 17 games.

Rangers seats in the ninth position with 22 points after 16 matches.
