Two-time African champions Enyimba International FC played to a 0-0 draw against Etoile Filante de Ouagadougou from Burkina Faso on Friday.

The match, which was the first leg of the Second Preliminary Round for the 2024/2025 CAF Confederation Cup, took place in Bamako, Mali.

The starting eleven for Enyimba included Nathaniel Asibe, Moses Adikwu, Innocent Gabriel, Eze Ekwutoziam, Ismail Sarki, Uwana Asuquo, Ani Chihozie, Ufere Chinedu, Fatai Abdullahi, Devine Ukadike, and Clinton Jephthah.

Despite a strong performance from both sides, neither team was able to secure a goal, setting the stage for a decisive return leg. The second leg is scheduled for September 22, 2024, at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba, Abia State.

Enyimba, who are aiming for their first CAF Confederation Cup title, previously clinched the CAF Champions League trophy twice, in 2003 and 2004.

Since those victories, their best achievement in the competition has been reaching the semi-finals on the continental level.
