NPFL: Ikhenoba battles with Ogunmodede and Ilechukwu for February Coach of the Month Award

By Wale Mustapha

Insurance FC head coach Greg Ikhenoba has been nominated for the February Coach of the Month award in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), following an impressive run of results since his appointment.

Ikhenoba, who took over after the exit of Monday Odigie, led Insurance FC to four wins and a draw from six games in the month.

He now faces tough competition from experienced coaches Imama Amapakabo of Abia Warriors, Fidelis Ilechukwu of Enugu Rangers, and Daniel Ogunmodede of Remo Stars.

Amapakabo guided Abia Warriors to three wins, a draw, and a loss, lifting them to seventh place in the league.

Ilechukwu’s Rangers, aiming for continental football next season, secured three wins, a draw, and a defeat. Ogunmodede’s Remo Stars continued their dominance, remaining at the top of the NPFL with three wins in five matches.

The winner of the award, organized by the League Bloggers Award (LBA), will be announced next week.
