Ashleigh Plumptre Shines again for Al-Ittihad in Saudi Women’s League

Nigeria defender Ashleigh Plumptre continued her outstanding form in the 2025/26 Saudi Women’s Premier League, providing two assists in Al-Ittihad’s 3-0 victory over Eastern Flames on Friday.

The versatile defender set up two of the goals, taking her tally of assists for the season to three.

She had earlier opened her campaign with an assist in Al-Ittihad’s win against Al-Ula FC, where she also captained the side to a 2-1 triumph.

Since her arrival in Saudi Arabia, Plumptre has been a consistent game-changer, directly contributing to 32 goals in 32 matches for Al-Ittihad.

Beyond club football, she remains a key figure for the Super Falcons, playing a crucial role in Nigeria’s triumph at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where the team clinched a record-extending 10th title.

Her compatriot, Francesca Ordega also featured for Al Ittihad.

Al Ittihad occupied the second position on the log with a maximum of six points from two games.

Leaders, Al Nassr top the table on the same point superior goal difference.
