By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

The unstoppable 22-year-old Nigeria forward, Joy Ugochukwu Omewa, continues her dazzling run of form in the Danish Women’s League, reinforcing her status as one of Africa’s brightest emerging talents.

In Fortuna Hjørring’s dramatic 1–1 draw against FC Midtjylland, Omewa once again stole the spotlight, scoring a 95th-minute equalizer to secure a crucial point for her side.

That strike marked her 10th consecutive goal, underlining a level of consistency and confidence that has made her a fan favourite in Denmark.

With this latest effort, Omewa has now taken her season tally to an impressive 16 goals in 17 appearances across all competitions, a testament to her sharp instincts, pace, and finishing prowess.

Her blistering club form follows shortly after her Super Falcons debut against The Amazons of Benin Republic in Lomé, as Nigeria book a spot at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.

Omewa’s rise continues to draw attention both at home and abroad, as she cements her reputation as one of Nigeria’s most exciting young forwards to watch.
