Osun Babes F.C. have reacted to reports circulating on social media claiming that head coach Bankole Olowookere has resigned from his position at the club.
In a statement released by the club, the management said it only became aware of the report through a publication by the online outlet echonews.ng, stressing that no official resignation letter has been submitted by the coach.
According to the club hierarchy, Olowookere has not formally communicated any decision to step down from his role as Technical Adviser of the Nigeria Women’s Football League side.
The club further stated that if the reports are eventually confirmed to be true, it would imply that the coach absconded from the team after collecting match allowances and other benefits meant for the squad ahead of their scheduled fixture against Dannaz Ladies F.C. on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
Osun Babes also refuted claims that the coach was owed outstanding wages, insisting that Olowookere had already received his February salary, while his March salary was yet to become due.
“As at the time of this publication, the club is yet to receive any resignation letter from Coach Olowookere,” the statement added.
The development has created uncertainty around the situation as both sides appear to have conflicting accounts regarding the coach’s status with the club.
