Victor Osimhen: Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti heaps praise on Nigeria striker

Napoli’s head coach Luciano Spalletti has extolled the on-field character and leadership personality of Victor Osimhen.
The Nigeria international continued his fine form in front of goal as he netted his tenth Serie A goal of the season in a 2-0 win over Sampdoria as the Partenopei bounced back from the loss to Inter Milan at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium.
Osimhen gave Napoli the lead in the 19th minute as he raced into the box beating Sampdoria two defenders before connecting with the perfect Mario Rui pass to score his tenth goal in Serie A this season and 11th overall this season.
Having seen his side gone five points clear at the Serie A summit, Spalletti is unsurprised as he credited the triumph to his side’s impressive form and growing winning mentality.
“He has a way of staying on the field where he takes on all the responsibility and uses all the characteristics he needs in these games,” Spalletti told media.
“Lately, he is paying more attention to the movements to be coordinated with the whole team. There are many leaders who are silent too, but this is what it’s about.
“I saw a very mature squad that was able to think carefully in a game that could’ve become complicated if we had been too emotional in our reaction. We used our heads, the result was never in doubt.”
