‘He does everything well’ – Giroud backs Osimhen to win Serie A golden boot

Former Arsenal and Chelsea star, Olivier Giroud has picked red-hot Nigerian international striker, Victor Osimhen to win the Golden Boot award in the Serie A this season.
Statistically, Osimhen is in the best form of his career since turning professional, with impressive record in front of goal.
His 21 goals in all competitions this season is his best goal tally since moving to Europe, eclipsing the 20 goals he scored while on loan with Charleroi.
The Nigeria international becomes the first player to score in eight consecutive Serie A matches since Cristiano Ronaldo in the 2019/20 season after he fired Napoli to a win over Empoli.
He is also the second youngest player (24 years, 58 days) in the three points for a win era to score in eight Serie A games in a row, behind only Roberto Muzzi (23 years, 165 for Cagliari in 1995).
And also the first Napoli player to achieve the feat Only Manchester City’s goal machine Erling Haaland has scored more goals than the Nigerian in the top five European Leagues so far this season.
Giroud who won 2018 FIFA World Cup was asked who will win the top goal scorer of the season during an interview with DAZN, and the veteran French striker said: “Osimhen. He does everything well, he has very high confidence.”
The 24-year-old currently top the scorer chart with 19 goals, six more than Inter Milan’s Argentina World Cup winner Lautaro Martínez, and seven ahead of compatriot Ademola Lookman.
