Ibrahim Olawoyin: Nigeria midfielder eager to light up Turkish topflight for Rizespor

The talented Nigerian midfielder inspired the Blues to gain promotion from the lower league last season despite joining the club midway through the season.

Olawoyin scored four goals and provided six to see Rizespor finished second at the end of regular Sport Toto 1 following his mid-season move from fellow second division side, Ankara Keçiorengucu.

The 25-year-old winger apart garnered 15 goals and 15 assists in his two seasons in the Turkish second division and is expected to make his Tuskish top flight debut for Rizespor against Adana Demispor on Sunday.

“It was a great success in the two years I played in the Spor Toto 1 Lig especially capping it with a promotion to the Super Lig last season and winning my first trophy in Europe as a runner up,” Olawoyin told ACLSports.

*Now, that was in the past. Each season, my aim is to always do better than the previous seasons. A new challenge is upon me now which I am fully prepared for.”

Olawoyin’s fellow Nigerian star, Onyekuru is also expected to feature for the club against Rizespor on Sunday.
