Al-Ahli without Edouard Mendy and Galeno against Al-Khaleej despite Ivan Toney return

Al-Ahli will be without goalkeeper Edouard Mendy and winger Galeno when they host Al-Khaleej in the Roshn Saudi League on Thursday.
The meeting at the Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Sports City Stadium in Jeddah is part of the 11th round of the Saudi competition, with Al-Ahli forced to cope without two of their foreign players because of injury.
According to Saudi newspaper Al Riyadiyah, Senegal international Mendy and Brazilian winger Wenderson Galeno will both miss the match.
Mendy has been unavailable since the end of the most recent international break after suffering an injury in training. The goalkeeper subsequently missed Al-Ahli’s Roshn Saudi League matches against Al-Fateh and Al-Fayha, as well as their AFC Champions League Elite fixture against Al Wasl.
Galeno, meanwhile, has been absent for Al-Ahli’s last two games against Al Wasl and Al-Fayha. His injury was sustained during the league match against Al-Fateh.
The club have received more positive news with the return of England striker Ivan Toney to training. Toney has recovered from the injury that ruled him out of the previous match against Al-Fayha and has resumed participation with the squad.
Al-Ahli go into Thursday’s fixture fifth in the Saudi league table on 18 points. They are seven points behind leaders Al-Qadsiah, although Al-Ahli have played one match fewer.
