Anthony Gordon says he was ‘very tired’ during Barcelona’s defeat by Paris Saint-Germain

Anthony Gordon admitted he was “very tired” during the opening 10 minutes of Barcelona’s 4-2 defeat by Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Tuesday.

The Barcelona forward started the match at Parc des Princes and spoke to CBS after a fast-paced contest in which Paris Saint-Germain secured a convincing victory.

Asked how the players felt during the game, Gordon said: “I was very tired in the first 10 minutes.”

He later explained that the demanding nature of the match had taken its toll as it progressed.

“Well, it was exactly as it looked,” Gordon said. “The atmosphere was chaotic. I was very tired in the first 10 minutes and it got worse as the game went on, but it was an important match.”

Despite his fatigue, the England international said he preferred playing in an open style because it produced more attacking opportunities.

“I prefer playing this way because it is exciting and creates more chances,” he added. “I know it is an entertaining game for the viewers, but yes, I am very tired.”

Gordon also praised Paris Saint-Germain, describing them as the world’s best team and suggesting Barcelona could face them again later in the competition.

“They are the best team in the world, and they have been for two years,” he said. “Hopefully we will see them again in the later rounds.”

Paris Saint-Germain are listed to face Lyon in Ligue 1 on 25 October 2026, while Barcelona are listed to play Real Madrid in La Liga on the same date.
