CHAN 2024: NFF confirms foreign training camp for Super Eagles B
By Wale Mustapha
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced that the home-based Super Eagles will camp abroad in preparation for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
Ibrahim Gusau, President of the NFF, confirmed the plans during a briefing with sports journalists in Abuja on Tuesday.
He emphasized that the decision to have the team train outside the country is aimed at optimizing their performance in the upcoming tournament.
“We deliberately want them to have a place where they can be fully camped and settled without any distractions. They will spend about two weeks there, after which we will arrange for a foreign camping venue where they can play quality friendly matches before moving to the venue of the tournament,” Gusau explained.
He further assured that the NFF is fully committed to providing the necessary support to ensure the team is well-prepared for the competition.
The 2024 CHAN, which will be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, is scheduled to take place from February 1 to February 28, 2025.
The NFF’s efforts to provide a comprehensive training program are designed to ensure the home-based players are in peak form ahead of the tournament.
