Christantus Uche to battle Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal for LaLiga Player of the Month Award

Young Nigerian striker Christantus Uche has been nominated for the LaLiga U-23 Player of the Month award for February.

The 21-year-old, who plays for Getafe, will compete with Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal, Valencia’s Javi Guerra, Real Betis’ Jesus Rodriguez, and Celta Vigo’s Javi Rodriguez for the prestigious individual honor.

Uche has scored once in four appearances for Jose Bordalás’ side this month, with his lone goal coming in Getafe’s hard-fought 2-1 victory against Girona last weekend.

So far this season, the talented Nigerian forward has netted three goals in 24 league appearances for Getafe.

However, Uche will be unavailable for Getafe’s next league match against Real Betis on Sunday due to a suspension after accumulating yellow cards.
