Dusan Vlahovic follows Mohamed Salah with free transfer to Besiktas
Dusan Vlahovic has joined Besiktas on a free transfer after leaving Juventus, following Mohamed Salah’s move to the Turkish league through Trabzonspor earlier this summer.
The 26-year-old Serbia striker has agreed a three-year contract with Besiktas, which will keep him at the club until the end of the 2028-29 season. His deal officially begins with the 2026-27 campaign.
Besiktas confirmed the agreement after completing negotiations that began earlier this week. The Turkish club announced on Wednesday that talks with Vlahovic were under way, before the transfer was finalised with the signing of the contract on Thursday.
Vlahovic is scheduled to be presented to supporters on Friday at 19:00 local time. The ceremony will take place at Tupras Stadium, with Besiktas fans expected to attend in the lower stands.
In an official statement, Besiktas said: “In relation to the transfer of professional football player Dusan Vlahovic, a three-year contract has been signed with the player, effective from the 2026-27 season until the end of the 2028-29 season. The player will receive a guaranteed amount of 7.5 million euros for each football season.”
The move brings an end to Vlahovic’s four-season spell with Juventus. He joined the Italian club from Fiorentina in January 2022 for a fee of 80m euros, having established himself as one of the leading strikers in Serie A.
Vlahovic’s arrival means he will begin a new chapter in Turkey after his contract with Juventus expired. He now follows the path taken by Egypt international Salah, who also moved to the Turkish league on a free transfer this summer, joining Trabzonspor.
The transfer gives Besiktas a high-profile attacking addition and provides Vlahovic with the chance to revive his career away from Juventus. His presentation on Friday will mark the formal start of his association with the Istanbul club, whose supporters will be able to see their new striker for the first time at Tupras Stadium.
The Serbian forward spent four seasons wearing Juventus colours after completing his move from Fiorentina, where his performances had made him one of the most prominent forwards in Italian football. His next contract will now run through the end of the 2028-29 campaign, with the financial terms confirmed by Besiktas as 7.5m euros per season.
