Jeremy Agbonifo: Jagiellonia eye move for Lens winger in Ekstraklasa swoop

Jeremy Agbonifo, the Sweden- and Nigeria-eligible right winger currently at Lens, is being linked with a move to Polish champions Jagiellonia in what would be a notable switch from Ligue 1 to the Ekstraklasa. The 20-year-old is under contract with the French club until June 2028, but his situation is attracting interest from Białystok as they assess wide options for the new season.

Agbonifo’s current market valuation is around €4m, and any deal would likely require Jagiellonia to break new ground financially if talks progress. There is no indication yet that Lens are prepared to sell, but the length of his contract hands the Ligue 1 side a strong negotiating position should formal discussions take place.

Born in Gothenburg and predominantly left-footed, Agbonifo has already gained experience across several European leagues despite his age. He joined Lens from Swedish side BK Hacken in July 2025 for a reported fee of €6.5m after impressing in the Allsvenskan and European fixtures. Since then he has had loan spells with Basel and a return stint at Hacken, giving him exposure to top-flight football in Sweden and Switzerland.

In senior league action, he has put together just over 1,800 minutes across Sweden, France and Switzerland, with a particularly eye-catching run of three goals and an assist in UEFA Conference League qualifying highlighting his impact in continental competition. He was also part of the Hacken squad that lifted the Swedish Cup in 2025.

For now, Agbonifo remains a Lens player with two years gone on a long-term deal and his future tied to the Stade Bollaert-Delelis unless Jagiellonia can put forward an offer that persuades the French club to negotiate.
