Katsina United boss demands attacking and defensive discipline before Kano Pillars derby

Katsina United coach Mohammed Azeez Audu has called on his players to improve their use of the ball and maintain discipline in both attack and defence before Sunday’s Nigeria Premier Football League meeting with Kano Pillars.

Audu’s warning comes after an impressive result last weekend, when Katsina United defeated Enyimba 4-2 in a high-scoring contest.

Despite that victory over the Peoples’ Elephant, the coach is determined to prevent complacency as his team prepares for another demanding fixture.

Addressing the squad during training on Tuesday, Audu emphasised the need for quick, organised transitions and a collective contribution in every phase of the game.

“If you lose the ball, you have to defend well. If you are with the ball, you have to attack well,” he said.

“Don’t have energy in just one direction of play.”

The coach wants Katsina United to carry their attacking form into the clash with Kano Pillars while also improving their defensive organisation.

With a busy league schedule continuing, Audu will be seeking another strong all-round performance as his side aims to claim three more points.
