Super Falcons drawn against Morocco in 2028 Olympic qualifying

Nigeria’s Super Falcons will play Morocco in the third round of qualifying for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games after completing a 7-0 aggregate victory over Comoros.
The Super Falcons secured their place in the next round with a 5-0 win in the second leg in Ikenne on Tuesday. They had won the first leg 2-0.
Toni Payne and Uchenna Kanu were among the scorers, while Christy Ucheibe also found the net as Nigeria completed a convincing victory over Comoros.
The two legs against Morocco are scheduled to take place in February and March 2027 respectively, with the first match to be played in February and the return fixture in March.
Morocco advanced to the third round without playing after Congo Brazzaville withdrew from the qualifying competition, resulting in a walkover.
The meeting will renew a recent rivalry between the two teams. The Super Falcons last faced Morocco in the WAFCON 2024 final, when Nigeria recovered from two goals down to win 3-2 and claim a record 10th title.
Nigeria will be aiming to qualify for the Olympic Games for a fourth time. The Super Falcons previously appeared at the Sydney 2000, Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008 editions.
A victory over Morocco across the two-legged tie would move Nigeria closer to securing another place at the Olympic tournament.
