Luca Koleosho: Nigeria-eligible winger stars in Burnley’s clash with Manchester City

Nigerian born winger, Luca Koleosho made his Premier League bow for Burnley in a 3-0 defeat to champions Manchester City at Turf Moor on Friday.
The Clarets kicked off new life in the English topflight but not the way Vincent Kompany’s side would want to start the season as the Citizens ran out with victory, thanks to brace from Erling Haaland and another from Rodri.
Among Burnley top performers, the 19-year-old forward who was born in the United States of America to a Nigerian father and a Italian-Canadian mother joined Burnley in this season from Spanish side, Espanyol.
Koleosho began playing career with his local soccer club Trumbull United at the age of seven before continuing his development at Manhattan Kickers, Spanish outfit Reus and Espanyol.
His movement to Burnley cost the Clarets £2m after making five senior appearances for Espanyol. Koleosho currently representing Italy at Youth level haven previously had a run out for the United States at U15 level.
The 18-year-old is still eligible to represent Nigeria, Canada, Italy and country of birth the United States and has made no decision on his senior career at full international level yet.
Burnley made swift return to English Premier League, following their promotion to the apex league last season in the Championship.
