Nigeria winger Mohammed Garba joins AS Trencin from Nasarawa United
Nigeria winger Mohammed Garba has joined Slovak club AS Trencin from Nasarawa United, completing a move that takes the 19-year-old into the Nike Liga.
Garba’s transfer was registered on 21 August 2026, marking a move from Nigeria’s NPFL to Slovakia’s top-flight competition. The left winger leaves Nasarawa United after making 42 league appearances, scoring five goals and providing one assist.
The forward played 2,365 minutes in those NPFL matches, with a goal recorded every 473 minutes. His previous league record places the move to AS Trencin as the next stage of a career that has so far been built in Nigerian domestic football.
Garba was born on 26 July 2007 and represents Nigeria. He operates primarily from the left side of attack and is right-footed, giving AS Trencin a wide attacking player who naturally works from the opposite flank to his stronger foot.
His arrival also represents a change in the footballing environment around him. Nasarawa United compete in the NPFL, while AS Trencin play in the Nike Liga, giving Garba the opportunity to continue his career in a different national league and country.
The transfer comes shortly after Garba’s market value was recorded at €50,000 on 26 June 2026. That figure reflects his standing at the time of the move, while his completed switch to AS Trencin places him within the Slovak club’s squad for the 2026-27 season.
AS Trencin are now Garba’s current club, with the player listed as a left winger following his departure from Nasarawa United. His recorded career statistics remain five goals and one assist from 42 NPFL appearances.
Garba completed his move from Nasarawa United to AS Trencin on 21 August 2026.
