Victor Osimhen scores twice as Galatasaray beat Erzurumspor 4-0
Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen scored twice and supplied an assist as the Yellow-Reds continued their strong start to the 2026/2027 Super Lig campaign with a 4-0 victory over Erzurumspor on Friday night.
The Nigeria international now has four goals from his opening two league matches, underlining the impressive scoring form he has carried into the new season.
Osimhen began the campaign with two goals in Galatasaray’s 2-2 draw against Corum on the opening day. He followed that performance with another influential display against Erzurumspor, contributing directly to three of his side’s four goals.
Galatasaray took the lead through Roland Sallai before Osimhen created their second goal in the 20th minute. The striker had found space in a promising position but chose to pass rather than shoot, laying the ball into the path of Yunus Akgun.
Akgun kept his composure and sent his finish into the bottom corner to double Galatasaray’s advantage.
Osimhen then added a goal of his own just before half-time. The 27-year-old took advantage of a mistake by Matija Ornjak and calmly placed the ball into the net in the 45th minute.
His second goal of the night arrived in the 80th minute, completing the former African Footballer of the Year’s brace. After receiving a pass from Brazilian midfielder Gabriel Sara, Osimhen struck the ball into the roof of the net with an emphatic finish.
The result gave Galatasaray a comfortable win and further highlighted Osimhen’s importance to the team since joining from Napoli. His four goals in two matches represent a decisive start to the new campaign, with the forward already combining goalscoring with creative contributions.
Friday’s performance also continued the momentum he established on the opening day, when his two goals helped Galatasaray earn a point against Corum. With another brace and an assist against Erzurumspor, Osimhen has played a central role in Galatasaray’s early attacking success.
The striker’s latest goals mean he has already scored four times in the opening two matches of the 2026/2027 Super Lig season, offering further evidence of his continued goalscoring form in Galatasaray colours.
