Nigerian defender Izuchukwu Anthony joins Krasava ENY on free transfer
Nigeria centre-back Izuchukwu Anthony has joined Krasava ENY from Akritas Chlor. on a free transfer, strengthening the Cypriot club’s defence for the 2026-27 season. The 28-year-old has agreed a contract running until 31 May 2027.
Anthony moves within Cyprus after one season with Akritas Chlor., whom he joined in August 2025 after a period without a club. His arrival at Krasava ENY was completed on 1 September 2026, with the defender moving from the second tier into the Cyprus League.
The 1.87m centre-back brings experience from several European leagues, having also played for Spartak Trnava, Hapoel Haifa, Radnicki 1923, Haugesund and Nest-Sotra FK. He began his senior club career with Haugesund after coming through GBS Academy, later spending time on loan at Jerv before returning to his parent club.
Anthony’s career includes a spell in Slovakia with Spartak Trnava, where he won the Slovak Cup in the 2021-22 season. He subsequently moved to Hapoel Haifa, then joined Saudi Arabian club Al-Khaleej, before later playing in Serbia and China.
His recorded league appearances include 32 matches in Norway’s OBOS-ligaen, where he scored twice and supplied one assist, as well as 28 appearances in the Super League, with three goals. He has also featured in Cyprus, Saudi Arabia, Israel and Slovakia, giving him experience across a range of domestic competitions.
The defender is listed as comfortable with both feet, adding flexibility to Krasava ENY’s options at centre-back. His move continues a career that has taken him from Nigeria into football in Norway, Slovakia, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, China and Cyprus.
Anthony now begins his contract with Krasava ENY, having completed his free transfer from Akritas Chlor. on 1 September 2026.
