Abia Warriors forward Sunday Megwo is confident his team can secure a shock victory against Shooting Stars in their upcoming NPFL clash in Ibadan.
Under the guidance of coach Imama Amapakabo, Abia Warriors head into the away encounter with renewed confidence following their 2-0 home win over Katsina United.
Meanwhile, Shooting Stars are coming off a derby defeat to Remo Stars, suffering the same 2-0 margin in Ikenne.
Megwo expressed optimism about his team’s chances, emphasizing that Abia Warriors will approach the match with the right mindset and determination to upset their Ibadan-based opponents.
“We are going into this match with the mindset of winning,” Megwo told the club’s media.
“We understand it will be a tough game against Shooting Stars, but we are confident in our ability to get the three points.”
While acknowledging the challenge posed by the Oluyole Warriors, Megwo believes his side’s trust in each other will prove crucial as they aim to claim a positive result in the Lion’s Den.
Abia Warriors currently sit 11th on the NPFL table, with 18 points from 14 matches, and will be looking to climb higher with a strong performance in Ibadan.
