Technical Adviser of Rivers Angels, Whyte Ogbonda has declared that his team’s mission to Benin for Nigeria Women Football League Premiership clash against Edo Queens was to claim the match points.
The Jewels of Rivers who are leading the Group B table of the apex women’s league in Nigeria will be hoping to consolidate on their position with a decent result against a struggling Benin side.
Ogbonda who is unaware of how critical the match would be noted that his girls are ready to go through it and achieve the result.

“Well, everybody has their mouth; Edo Queens can say whatever they want to say. We have rounded up our training, and come Wednesday, just as they’re planning, we are also planning,” Ogbonda told Rivers Angels’ media on Monday.

“The match against the Edo Queens is our qualification ticket to the Super Six. Just as I have told the players, if we get the three points from the Edo Queens, we have qualified for the Super Six.”
The former Confluence Queens’ gaffer also understand why Edo Queens are under pressure to win as it will revive their hope of securing playoffs spot which he’s not ready to give in for.
“We are going there to get a win, knowing fully well that we are in a tight group, so we are not going to lose guard.
“I think the major reason they’re talking tough is that they’re in the relegation zone. What I mean is that they’re not sure of qualifying for the Super Six.
The match is slated for Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin on Wednesday by 5:30pm.
