Raja Casablanca president announces major revamp of historic Oasis training complex

Raja Casablanca president Jawad Ziyat has unveiled a sweeping redevelopment of the club’s historic Oasis training complex, promising a “new phase” for one of Morocco’s most famous football academies.

In a preview of an interview with Moroccan outlet Le360 Sport, due to be published in the coming hours, Ziyat said the club has entered a fresh stage in its rehabilitation project for the “Complexe Oasis”, long regarded as the spiritual home of the Green Eagles.

He confirmed that Raja’s historic residential centre for youth players, which has been closed for several years, will be brought back into operation – a move he described as central to restoring one of the club’s most important landmarks.

Historic residence to reopen for youth development

Ziyat explained that the revamped accommodation centre will house around 50 beds and will be dedicated to hosting and training the club’s youth categories.

He said the facilities are being redesigned to create suitable living and learning conditions for academy players, under a strategy that puts long-term investment in youth development at the heart of Raja’s future.

The reopening of the centre marks a return to a model that historically helped Raja nurture homegrown talent, which has underpinned many of the club’s greatest eras on the domestic and continental stage.

Major works under way at Oasis complex

The Raja president stressed that work is progressing across the Oasis complex, describing it as a comprehensive refurbishment rather than a simple facelift.

He said the project includes the re-laying and upgrading of pitches, modernisation of a range of on-site facilities, and a broader reorganisation of the infrastructure to meet contemporary professional standards.

According to Ziyat, the upgrades are designed not only to support the first team, but also to provide a fully integrated base for all of Raja’s age groups, from academy level through to senior football.

New museum to showcase Raja’s legacy

As part of the overhaul, Ziyat revealed that a dedicated Raja Casablanca museum will be created within the Oasis complex.

The museum will document the club’s history and achievements, and aims to embody what he described as Raja’s “deep-rooted identity and values”.

By curating trophies, memorabilia and key moments from the club’s past, the museum is intended to connect current and future generations of players and supporters with Raja’s heritage as one of Africa’s most decorated and widely supported clubs.

Restoring Oasis to the top of Moroccan football

Ziyat concluded that the overarching goal of the project is to restore the Oasis complex to its “natural position” as one of Morocco’s leading training centres and sports facilities.

He said the vision is to provide a complete, modern environment that serves the needs of the first team and every youth category, in line with Raja’s new sporting and administrative project.

By combining upgraded pitches, renewed residential facilities and a permanent museum space, the club’s leadership hopes Oasis will again become a reference point for player development and football infrastructure in Morocco.
