Rangers edge Rivers United in rescheduled Nigeria Premier Football League tie

Enugu Rangers pipped Rivers United 1-0 in a rescheduled game of the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) on Wednesday.

Kazeem Ogunleye scored the winner for the Flying Antelopes in the 50th minute at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.

The win moved the Enugu-based side to the eighth position on the table with 28 points after 19 games.

For Rivers United, Stanley Eguma’s side seats in the 14th position with 21 points after 16 games.

Their continental assignments meant that they had three outstanding matches.

Up next for Rivers will be another domestic clash against Enyimba on January 28.

This will be followed by another home fixture with Doma United on February 4.

On their part, Rangers will welcome Akwa United to the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on February 4.
