Reports: Real Madrid make approach to sign Reece James from Chelsea

Spanish giants Real Madrid have made an approach to sign Chelsea right-back Reece James.

Reece is yet to be offered a new deal by Chelsea and according to reports Madrid are keen to sign the England international. The Spanish giants are interested in exploiting any impasse in contract talks for the London side’s highly-rated academy graduate.

The Los Blancos are one of a host of Europe’s top clubs that have approached James about a possible transfer. Madrid’s plan would be to potentially sign the defender in the 2023 summer transfer window.

In the short-term, the La Liga side’s priority remains to secure Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe, having already agreed a move for Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side are also ready to challenge the Blues and Liverpool to sign Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.
