Rinsola Babajide scores third league goal in Levante’s big loss to Barcelona

Nigeria forward Rinsola Babajide scored Costa Adeje Tenerife’s solitary goal as her club suffered a 5-1 loss to Spanish champions FC Barcelona in a league encounter on Sunday.
Babajide gave the traveling Tenerife fans something to cheer, with the opening goal of the game inside the first three minutes of play.
The visitors could only hold the European and Spanish champions for 35 minutes before Irene Paredes leveled matters.
Ewa Pajor put them ahead in the 40th minute while Caroline Graham Hansen extended the advantage in the additional minutes of the first half.
Two more goals from Claudia Pina and Esmee Brugts secured a 5-1 win for the Catalan side.
Babajide, who scored her third goal in the league, saw 65 minutes of action and was replaced by Jassina Blom.
Her compatriot, Gift Monday was not dressed for the encounter.
Costa Adeje Tenerife occupy the seventh position on the log with 16 points after 11 games.
They welcome Rasheedat Ajibade’s Atletico Madrid in their next league game on December 8, 2024.
