Nigeria left back, Rofiat Imuran was on the score sheet in Stade de Reims 2-1 defeat to Montpellier at the Stade De Bernard Gasset on Saturday.
Imuran had scored her first goal of the season with the consolatory effort in 5-1 loss to champions Lyon and got her second of the season on her fourth start in eight appearances this season.
Montpellier took the lead through a 51st minute striker from Kethna Louis and Sonia Ouchene doubled the lead three minutes later to seat comfortably in the game.
Imuran stood tall to pull a goal back for Stade de Reims in the 69th minute on her compatriot Tosin Demehin’s first team return from injury but the Nigerian duo could not rescue their side.
Following the scoring, the former Rivers Angels defender expressed her disappointment in her side narrow loss and vowed to help side claim positive result in their upcoming encounter.
“It was a great game, we did our best to get a favourable result, but it didn’t really work out,” Imuran told Super Falcons Show.
“We are focused on our next game and want to get a good result from it.”
The Super Falcons fullback has now scored two goals in eight appearances for her French side this season. Stade de Reims will lock horns with Paris FC in their next encounter.
