Sunderland forward Trey Ogunsuyi attracts loan interest from three clubs

Sunderland forward Trey Ogunsuyi is being monitored by Bradford City, Luton Town and Fleetwood Town ahead of the transfer window reopening in January.
The 19-year-old, who is eligible to represent Nigeria, Belgium and England, has attracted interest from the League One pair and League Two club Fleetwood Town, according to Alan Nixon.
Ogunsuyi has been named in Sunderland’s first-team squad 13 times but has yet to make a competitive appearance for the Black Cats since his senior debut against Stoke City in the Emirates FA Cup in January 2025.
He spent last season on loan with Falkirk and Shrewsbury Town, making 22 appearances between the two clubs as he sought regular first-team football.
A further temporary move could now be under consideration, with Bradford City, Luton Town and Fleetwood Town all reported to be following his progress.
Ogunsuyi is regarded as one of the most promising players to have come through Sunderland Academy and has made a strong start to the current campaign. He has scored five goals in four appearances for the club’s Under-21 side.
That form led to his nomination for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for August. However, he lost out to Kaye Furo, the son of former Super Eagles centre-back Iyenemi Furo.
Ogunsuyi joined Sunderland at the age of 10 and is entering the final season of his current contract, which expires at the end of the campaign.
