Tunde Adeniji Secures Move to Kazakhstan’s FC Atyrau Following Levski Sofia Stint

In a significant move for his career, former home-based Super Eagles striker, Tunde Adeniji, has inked a one-year deal with Kazakhstan Premier League club, FC Atyrau, reports Completesportsnigeria.com (CSN).

The 22-year-old forward had been seeking a fresh start since parting ways with Bulgarian side Levski Sofia through mutual consent late last year. Despite rumored interest from Major League Soccer (MLS) outfits such as Portland Timbers and DC United, as well as Finnish club HJK Helsinki, FC Atyrau emerged victorious in securing Adeniji’s coveted signature.

Adeniji, who notably finished as the second-highest scorer behind Gbolahan Salami in the Nigeria Professional Football League during the 2014/2015 season while representing Sunshine Stars Football Club of Akure, joins FC Atyrau with a wealth of experience.

Having commenced his European venture with Levski Sofia in January 2016, Adeniji initially enjoyed a successful campaign in his inaugural season. However, his fortunes took a downturn in the subsequent term, prompting the club to mutually agree to a transfer.

A notable presence in Nigeria’s home-based Super Eagles team at the 2016 African Nations Championship in Rwanda, Adeniji’s move to FC Atyrau is anticipated to provide the young striker with a platform for resurgence and a chance to showcase his prolific goal-scoring abilities on the Kazakhstani stage.

This transition marks a pivotal chapter in Adeniji’s career, as he embarks on a new footballing journey with FC Atyrau in the vibrant landscape of the Kazakhstan Premier League
