Former Nigeria international Victor Moses has bid farewell to Spartak Moscow after a four-year stint with the Russian giants, penning an emotional message to the club and its fans.
The former Chelsea player played his last home match for the Muscovites as they defeated Rubin Kazan 3-1 on Sunday, coming off the bench to replace Théo Bongonda with fourteen minutes left.
During his time at the club, the 33-year-old made 84 appearances across all competitions, contributing to 20 goals.
The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner initially joined Spartak Moscow on loan before signing a permanent deal in July 2021.
“After three beautiful years at this great club, it’s now time for me to move on to a new adventure,” he shared on his X account.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to say a huge heartfelt thank you to everybody connected with Spartak Moscow for all of your incredible support during my time here.
“Winning the Russian Cup, the journey we had in the Europa League together, as well as the countless wins and successes we had as a team will always stay with me.
“Thank you to the board, the management, coaches, my teammates, and of course most importantly our fans for welcoming me into the Spartak family.
“Good luck for the future. You will always be in my heart,” he concluded, leaving Spartak fans with a goodwill message as he embarks on a new chapter in his career.
