“We will get it right soon enough” – Akwa United assures fans after Ikorodu City debacle

By Wale Mustapha

Akwa United have assured their fans of a swift turnaround following their disappointing 4-1 defeat to newly promoted Ikorodu City in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) on Sunday.

The loss marked another setback in what has been a challenging start to the season for the Promise Keepers.

With just four wins and three draws from 15 games, the club has struggled to find consistency, leaving them in a precarious position.

Despite the setback, Akwa United remained hopeful and reassured their supporters on social media, promising a positive response in upcoming fixtures.

“A bad day at work, we will get it right soon enough,” the club said in a statement on their official X account.

The defeat dropped Akwa United to 19th place in the NPFL standings.

They will look to bounce back when they face Bendel Insurance FC in their next match, hoping to regain form and climb out of the relegation zone.
