Zaidu Sanusi and Terem Moffi celebrate FC Porto’s 2025/26 league title with fans
Nigerian internationals Zaidu Sanusi and Terem Moffi joined FC Porto’s players and thousands of supporters for an all-night celebration after the club secured the 2025/26 Portuguese league title.
Porto confirmed the championship with a 1-0 win over FC Alverca at Estadio do Dragao, a result that made it impossible for their rivals to catch them with two matches still to play. The victory prompted scenes of celebration inside the stadium before the party spread through the streets of the city.
Sanusi played the entire match at left-back and marked the triumph by winning his second league title with FC Porto. His performance in the decisive fixture added to his standing as one of Nigeria’s most established players in European football.
For Moffi, the success was a first major club honour. The forward arrived on loan midway through the campaign and contributed to Porto’s strong finish, providing additional attacking options during the decisive final stages of the title race.
After the final whistle, the players took part in celebrations alongside supporters. The parade developed into a vibrant city-wide occasion, with fans carrying flags, singing club anthems and walking with the squad in a carnival-like atmosphere.
Videos shared online showed Sanusi and Moffi dancing and engaging with Porto supporters. Their involvement reflected the close bond between the players and the club’s fanbase as the celebrations continued through the night.
The title adds another major achievement to FC Porto’s long domestic history and gives the club further silverware in the 2025/26 season. It also provides another prominent moment for Nigerian footballers competing at the highest level in Europe.
Sanusi’s contribution was particularly significant in the match that delivered the championship. Having completed all 90 minutes against FC Alverca, he helped Porto finish the title-clinching fixture with the result they needed at Estadio do Dragao.
Moffi’s success came after joining the squad during the season, with his role becoming increasingly important as Porto approached the conclusion of the campaign. His attacking depth helped the club maintain its push for the championship during the run-in.
The celebrations brought together the entire Porto squad and the supporters who had gathered to mark the achievement. Flags, chants and dancing filled the scenes as the team celebrated the league triumph with the city.
For both Nigerian internationals, the occasion offered a different milestone. Sanusi added a second Portuguese league title to his career, while Moffi celebrated the first major club trophy of his career. Their presence at the centre of the parade underlined the contribution of Nigerian players to FC Porto’s latest domestic success.
