Nigeria duo lead Zamalek to victory over Pyramids

Two Nigerians, Alice Ogebe and Yetunde Fajobi, scored for Egypt Women’s Premier League side Zamalek, as their team defeated Pyramids 3-0 on Friday.

Ogebe, who has previously played in Poland, opened scoring for the host.

Aya Ibrahim doubled the lead for Zamalek to put the team in pole position.

Former Osun Babes and Edo Queens player, Fajobi sealed the win with the third goal.

Zamalek moved up the league table to fifth with 30 points, 12 points behind leaders and 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League bronze medalist, FC Masar.

Al Ahly, Wadi Degla, and ZED are the other teams ahead of Zamalek on the league table.

The Egyptian women’s football league has been home to various Nigerian players.

They include Charity Reuben and Chinaza Agoh amongst others
