Kano Pillars suspend technical adviser over poor performance and misconduct

By Dayo Awoniyi

Kano Pillars FC have announced the suspension of their Technical Adviser, Usman Sheriff Abdallah, for three weeks, following a series of poor performances and allegations of unprofessional conduct towards fans.

The club’s Media & Communications Directorate confirmed the decision in an official statement on Sunday.

The suspension comes after Kano Pillars’ disappointing 0-0 draw against Bayelsa United, marking their third consecutive underwhelming result.

With only one win in their last three matches, concerns have mounted regarding the team’s inconsistent form under Abdallah’s guidance. His conduct following the match, including an inappropriate gesture towards the supporters, led to the disciplinary action.

Kano Pillars management emphasized its commitment to professionalism and maintaining a respectful relationship with their fans.

In the interim, club legend and Chief Coach, Ahmed Garba Yaro-Yaro, will take over technical responsibilities, with assistance from Abubakar Musa, Gambo Muhammad, Suleiman Shuaibu, and Ayuba Musa.

The coaching team’s immediate priority will be to stabilize the squad ahead of their NPFL25 Matchday 23 clash against Remo Stars in Ikenne.

Kano Pillars hope the decision will act as a wake-up call for the squad, motivating them to regain their form and finish the season on a high note.
