Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen has rejected a second contract offer from Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal, despite the club’s latest proposal reportedly worth around £25 million per year.

The Napoli striker, 26, has now turned down two lucrative offers from the Saudi Pro League side, who are eager to bring him in ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup.

Al Hilal recently appointed former Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi as their new head coach as they ramp up their transfer ambitions.

Osimhen’s current release clause is believed to be approximately £63 million.

Napoli had earlier turned down Al Hilal’s initial bid, but sources suggest the Saudi champions are preparing an improved offer in the region of £59 million.

The Nigerian international has one year remaining on his current contract, and his long-term future remains uncertain.

Chelsea were previously in negotiations to sign him earlier this year, while Manchester United have also expressed interest in the past.

Al Hilal’s pursuit of top European talent has faced recent setbacks, including a failed attempt to sign Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes.

Osimhen scored 17 goals in all competitions last season, despite Napoli’s struggles to defend their Serie A title.
