Three top-flight Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) teams made it to the last four of the 2023 Federation Cup on Sunday after the conclusion of the quarter-final  games.

Bendel Insurance edged another NPFL side and Super Six team, Sunshine Stars 1-0 at Awka City Stadium.

Deputy Echeta’s 56th-minute goal was all it wrote at the end of 90 minutes.

In Ijebu-Ode, the only non-top flight team and second-tier Nigeria National League (NNL) side, Warri Wolves pipped NPFL outfit, Lobi Stars 2-1 at Otunba Dipo Dina Stadium, Ogun State.

Jabbar Malik opened the scoring for Warri Wolves in the 44th minute before Kumaga Suur equalised for Lobi Stars.

Christian Aniche converted the winning goal for the NNL side to book a place in the semi-final.

At Area 3 Goal Project, Abuja, Yakubu Adam’s goal sealed a 1-0 victory for Plateau United against Kwara United.

Rangers International edged Doma United 1-0 at the Akure Township Stadium.

An 80th-minute strike from attacking midfielder, Chiediebere Nwobodo ensured that Abdul Maikaba’s side’s chase for the seventh Federation Cup is kept alive.

For the semi-final, Bendel Insurance will face Warri Wolves in Lagos while Plateau United and Rangers International trade tackles in Enugu.
