Piers Morgan wants Arsenal to sign Victor Osimhen to win ‘big trophies’

By Monsurah Olatunji
Arsenal have made a blistering start to this summer’s transfer window, signing Kai Havertz from Chelsea and getting set to close deals for West Ham captain Declan Rice and Ajax man Jurrien Timber.
The hugely controversial TV personality and lifelong Arsenal supporter has urged Arsenal to break the bank for the Napoli star.
Osimhen was instrumental as Napoli won the Scudetto last season, winning the Golden Boot and ending the season with 31 goals in all competitions.
The 24-year-old is one of the most lethal strikers in world football and will certainly elevate Arsenal’s attacking play to the next level.
However, should Arsenal decide to sign Osimhen, it will be for a record fee as Napoli are not willing to listen to any offers below €150 million, and it will also break the record for the most fee spent by Arsenal in a transfer window.
In a tweet, Piers suggested, since the race for the signature of Declan Rice seems to have been won after Manchester City reportedly pulled out of a hundred million euros bid for the West Ham midfielder, his preferred signing would be the Super Eagles attacker.
After leading the way in the Premier League for much of last season before falling away catastrophically, Piers specifically highlighted the need for a world-class striker that guarantees at least twenty-five goals in a season and stated the Nigerian star fits that role perfectly.
“It’s brilliant that Arsenal seems to have won the race to sign @_DeclanRice who will be a monstrously good addition to the team,” he wrote.
“But if we want to win big trophies, we also need a world-class striker who will score 25+ goals a season. I’d break the bank for @victorosimhen9 #afc.”
