Abde Ezzalzouli joint-top for shots in Champions League third round

Abde Ezzalzouli shared top spot for shots during the third round of the Champions League league phase after helping Real Betis claim a 1-0 victory over Feyenoord at La Cartuja last Wednesday.
The Morocco international attempted eight shots against the Dutch side, matching the total recorded by Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy. The Guinea forward also started for his club in their 2-1 away win against Sabah of Azerbaijan.
The figures, published by Squawka, placed Ezzalzouli and Guirassy level at the top of the shooting standings for matchday three. Aston Villa’s Emiliano Buendia and Napoli midfielder Scott McTominay followed with seven attempts each.
Sporting Lisbon forward Luis Suarez registered six shots, while Donyell Malen, Fabian Ruiz, Alexis Mac Allister and Rayan Cherki each managed five. Florian Wirtz completed the top 10 with four attempts.
Ezzalzouli’s contribution came as Real Betis secured their third win in the competition. The Spain-based club held on for a narrow victory over Feyenoord at La Cartuja, with the Morocco forward among the leading attacking players statistically across the round.
Guirassy, meanwhile, converted his high volume of attempts into two goals against Sabah. His double continued an impressive Champions League record since the beginning of the 2024-25 season.
No player has scored more Champions League braces than Guirassy during that period. The Dortmund striker has recorded two such games since the start of the 2024-25 campaign.
Squawka highlighted the comparison in a post published on 22 October 2026, noting that Guirassy and Ezzalzouli had the joint-highest number of shots in the third round, while also pointing to Guirassy’s two-goal performance.
