Rangers’ interim manager Barry Ferguson has lauded Super Eagles forward Cyriel Dessers after his dramatic stoppage-time winner against Dundee on Saturday.
Dessers, 30, netted his 23rd goal of the season across all competitions, cementing his position as one of the club’s standout performers and silencing any lingering critics.
Ferguson, who has been overseeing the team in a temporary capacity, praised Dessers for his commitment and work ethic.
“The big man has been a joy to work with. He’s a brilliant worker and a fantastic listener. He’s always looking to improve, even at his age,” Ferguson said.
The interim boss highlighted Dessers’ resilience and his ability to rise above adversity.
“His determination has been evident. He’s always in the right positions, and he’s shown great character in bouncing back from frustration. His stoppage-time goal is the reward for all that hard work.”
Ferguson also emphasized that he had been confident in Dessers’ ability to succeed, even before taking over as interim manager.
“I always believed in him. Even when faced with criticism, whether from fans or the media, he’s the type of player who simply rolls up his sleeves and keeps going.”
